Cupcakes & Happiness

Hi friends! Today I'm here with a card so sweet you could almost eat it! ;) A cupcake bakery is opening up today right next to the pottery studio where I work, so I wanted to make a card for my co-workers to sign to welcome them to the neighborhood. I knew that Mama Elephant's Carnival Cupcakes and Carnival Toppers stamps and dies were going to be perfect for the look I was going for.

I colored my images with Copic markers to match the gorgeous Echo Park Party Time 6x6 papers, and stamped my sentiment with Lawn Fawn Merman ink. Then I die cut my focal panel with the Avery Elle Finished Frames. I layered everything up and popped my focal panel and cupcakes up with foam tape for added dimension, then dabbed a bit of Crystal Stickles glitter glue to make it sparkle like crystalized sugar. Yum!

Crafty Christmas Collaboration with Jessica Frost-Ballas

Hey friends! Today I'm so excited to share a super fun collaboration with my friend Jessica Frost-Ballas. Last December, Jessica found herself with her Christmas card stash depleted. That last minute Christmas card hustle had her stressed and overwhelmed, feelings to which I can totally relate! She wanted to solve this problem by making cards all throughout the year, so come next December 1st, she'd be completely prepared, and could then relax and relish in the joys of the season.

Because it can be tough to stay inspired to make Christmas cards all year round, Jessica came up with the brilliant idea to make it fun by including her crafty friends in a monthly collaboration, and I'm thrilled to be her February guest!

Each of us put together a little packet of elements to create a card and sent it off to the other, then made an extra one for ourselves so we'd have the same supplies. Here's what I sent Jess. I noticed while poking around her blog that she didn't seem to have any Neat & Tangled Christmas sets, so I stamped and die cut several images from Elfs and their Shelf, since it was the one set on my list for my 2016 Christmas Card Series that I didn't end up getting to use. I also included a couple sentiments from that set, five double-sided patterned papers, since that's kind of my thing ;), and a few enamel dots.

And here's what Jess sent me. She realized I didn't have any Altenew (she was right!) and sent me some beautiful stamped and gold glitter embossed trees from their Sketched Evergreen set, and sentiments from Holiday Wishes. She also included a white card base, some black cardstock, and silky back and gold twine.

For the card I made with my own supplies, I colored my images with Copic markers, then incorporated all five patterned papers -- and actually added a sixth. A light sprinkling of enamel dots finished off the design.

I'll admit, the supplies Jessica sent had me a little stumped at first. The kit definitely lent itself to a more elegant style than I typically create, but I LOVE a good challenge! Since the trees were already embossed with that gorgeous gold sparkle detail, I thought adding even more sparkle couldn't hurt. The My Mind's Eye Comfort and Joy 6x6 was one of my favorites last Christmas because of the glitter detail on some of the patterns. I added this poinsettia strip, and found another pattern that worked perfectly for my sky background. I added a couple snowy hills, trimmed my sentiment to a flag end, and finished off the card with a black scalloped border and that gorgeous black and gold twine.

Please head over to Jess's blog to discover what she made with our supplies. Be sure to leave a comment at both our blogs for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Neat & Tangled, AND you can link up your own cards all year long at Jess's blog for a chance to win a big grand prize in December!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed our collab!

Hey friends! Happy Friday! It's time once again for my Friday Feature over at the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog. Today I'm creating a fun, interactive flop card using the MFT Sweet Forest Friends  stamps and dies and the MFT Flop Card Rectangle Die-namics. It also features a secret inside scene, but you'll have to hop on over to check that out. ;)

Magical Day Fairy Tale Scene

Hey friends! Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a great start! Today I'm sharing a dreamy, fairy tale card using the Avery Elle Be A Unicorn  stamp set. Isn't she a cutie? I brought her to life with Copic markers and created a fluffy land in the clouds scene for her to live in with the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders. Then I stamped a few little stars and hearts Lawn Fawn SunflowerMerman, and Plastic Flamingo inks to keep with that magical feel.

To see how this whole card came together, check out the video below, or click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right to watch it there in HD. And don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe! I'm hoping to get to 25K subscribers by the end of this year, and I know that might sound crazy, but I'm determined to dream big!

Thank you all for your wonderful support. I couldn't do it without you! Have an amazing day!

A Novel Birthday + Friday Feature at BRI

Hey friends, happy Friday! This week I happened to need TWO birthday cards for friends in my writer's group, and I knew that the MFT Our Story stamp set was going to be just perfect for both!

I'm sharing the masculine version here, and the feminine version for my Friday Feature over at the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog. I did some paper-piecing with the stunningly gorgeous Flora 6x6 by Carta Bella in combination with Copic coloring, and I absolutely LOVED how it turned out, so you'll have to check it out. Here's a sneak peek to entice you over. ;)

I didn't film a video this time because I created both of them simultaneously as I needed them quick and I knew there would be no way to edit that footage down to a reasonable length. But if you'd like a video on how I created either of these cards, let me know. Maybe I can do a separate video for each if there's interest.

I hope you all have an amazing day and a wonderful weekend!

Birthday Bunny - Copic Colored Cloudy Sky Background

Hi friends! Every year after I finish up my Valentine Card Series, I find myself in immediate need for birthday cards. This cute Lili of the Valley Balloon Bunny image is always a go-to for quick and easy (and adorable!) cards, but I wanted to step it up a notch by coloring in my own cloudy sky background with Copic markers. Of course, I had to film a video so I could share the technique with you all.

I die cut my focal panel with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die and added a sentiment using a tab from the MFT Blueprints 29 Die-namics, such a versatile die set!

Speaking of valentines, my friend Winter posted a wonderful update on the Cards From the Heart Card Drive that you'll for sure want to check out! I was smiling all day today thinking of those kids who were blessed by the drive! Such a great cause.

I hope you all have a fantastic day! Thanks for stopping by!

2017 Valentine Card Series #9

Hey crafty friends! Today I have a sweet card to share with you for Day 10 of my 2017 Valentine Series. Aren't these mice just darling? This is the Moonbeam Meadow True Love set by Crafter's Companion, and I just happened to notice while grabbing the link, that this and ALL their EZ Mount Stamp Sets are now 75% off! That, my friends, works out to $2.49 per stamp set, which is CRAZY cheap! So if you love this image as much as I do, you may want to strike while the iron's hot. ;)

I watercolored my panel with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and all colors used are listed at the top left of the screen in the video. I hope you enjoy it!
